NOTICE OF RACE
JERSEY GIRLS INVITATIONAL
MAY 4-5, 2013

1.RULES:
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of US SAILING, the Inter-Scholastic Sailing Association (ISSA) Procedural Rules, the MASSA Procedural Rules, this Notice of Race, and the Sailing Instructions. The regatta is classified as a Category A event.

2. ELIGIBILITY:
2.1 Eighteen (18) competing schools must be members of ISSA and meet eligibility rules as prescribed in the ISSA Procedural Rules.
2.2. The regatta is open to all female ISSA high school sailors and eligibility shall be determined by the guidelines of the ISSA Procedural Rules.
2.3. Teams must be accompanied by a designated adult team leader, who may be an advisor, coach or parent recognized by the school.

3. ENTRY AND COMMUNICATIONS:
3.1. Regatta berths will be filled by a first come basis. After that point, eligible schools will be placed on wait list. Any team on the waitlist will be notified by Monday, April 16, 2012.

4 ENTRY FEE: There will be no entry fee.

5 DAMAGE:
5.1 Collisions causing serious damage will be dealt with by jury with regard to RRS rule 14, 68 & 69. 6

6. BOATS:
6.1 Eighteen 420s as supplied by the Ocean County College Sailing Team.

0930 First Warning and schedule for the day.
1600 No race will start after this time, with the exception of any sail off, if needed
1700 Trophy presentation

7.2 Boats will be launched at TRYC and A-Division will sail to the racing area off of TRYC. Rotations will occur from TRYC docks.  B-Division will return the boats to TRYC after their last race.

8 RACING AREA:
8.1 All races will be sailed on the Toms River in front of TRYC.

9 COURSES:
9.1 Based on conditions, the Race Committee will determine the courses as prescribed in
ISSA PR 7.7.

10: SCORING:
10.1 The regatta will be scored in accordance with ISSA Procedural Rules.

12 TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION:
12.1 Competitors should use Newark - Liberty International Airport (EWR). Alternative
airports are Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), and Atlantic City International
Airport (ACY).

12.2 From the Garden State Parkway take exit 82, follow Route 37E 3 miles, hotel on
right. From NJ Turnpike take exit 4, follow 73S to 70E Intersect at circle with 37 E, 5
miles make right onto Tennyson Ave then make left at the second stop sign and follow the road to TRYC.

13 COACHING:
13.1 Team leaders, chaperones, coaches, parents, advisors and other support personnel
shall not go afloat in the sailing area from Saturday to Sunday unless explicitly permitted
by the regatta chairperson. The penalty for failing to comply with this requirement may
be the disqualification of all boats, competitors and teams associated with the infringing
support personnel.

14 PRIZES:
14.1 Prizes will be awarded to schools placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the regatta. The top
school will have its name engraved on the .

15 OFFICIAL NOTICE:
15.1 No contestant shall use, either on or off the water, alcoholic beverages (beer, wine,
or distilled spirits, each as defined in Chap 51 of the US Internal Revenue Code and
intended for beverage use), or marijuana, cocaine, or any other controlled substance (as
defined in 21 US Code 802), the possession of which, by that contestant is unlawful
under 21 US Code 841. Infringements of this regulation and/or other discipline
expectations occurring during November 13-14, 2010 may be the basis for a hearing
under RRS 69.1 The protest committee for such a hearing shall be the regatta
chairperson, a member of the ISSA BOD, and the protest committee chairperson. This
protest committee shall, at a time and place selected by them, meet to hear said protest,
and their decision to impose scoring penalties, or other sanctions they alone deem
appropriate, including summary removal from the regatta, shall be final, without appeal.
