[NESSA] Spring 2024 High School Sailing - S13

  1. Team Racing.

    • Congrats to St George's for winning the 2024 Presidents trophy.  Complete scores are posted here.

    • Good luck to St George's and Hotchkiss who will represent NESSA at the Baker in a few weeks.

    • Good luck as well to Tabor, Barrington HS, & Fairfield Ludlowe HS will be headed to the NIT in Chicago.

    • Team Racing ranking continues this week.  New coach's poll will be posted today and next week selections for the Terk will be made. If you have scores to post, please send them to me.

  2. Herreshoff Qualifiers: Here is the link to the Herreshoff Qualifiers website

    1. Site Assignments: Everyone should know where they will be sailing by now.

      1. Deadline to withdraw without penalty is 0930 on Thursday May 9, 2024.  Teams on NESSA probation should pay attention to this deadline.

      2. Tech Score: Today is the day to make sure that all of the sailors that you plan to use are listed in your team database in the NESSA directory.  If they are in there today, they should appear in the Tech Score Data base by tomorrow.

      3. Sailing Instructions are posted.  You will notice that they are purposely short.  That is because a lot of information is already captured in the ISSA Procedural Rules.  Coaches should have a working knowledge of this document.  If you are confused, ask the NESSA Rep at your site.  Ther are certain things that trip up even veteran coaches in the ISSA Procedural Rules.

        • Safety and Special Clothing ISSA 2. [PFD 2.2, Team Uniforms (pinnies) 2.4, Scoring penalties  2.5]

      4. NESSA Reps:  The NESSA Rep is the liaison between the coaches and the RC.  If you have questions, comments, or concerns, need help filling out your RP forms, questions on substitutions, etc., they are the first person to ask.  For this weekend, these are the NESSA Reps.

    5. Qualification to a National Regatta.

      • Schools placing 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in the regatta will also qualify to represent NESSA at the ISSA Fleet Racing National Championship for the Clifford Mallory Trophy.

      • The next 4 schools will qualify to represent NESSA at the Phebe King Memorial Trophy. The P King regatta also has an option for at-large berths if schools finishing below 7th are interested.

      • All schools should be ready to accept or decline any berths earned to a National Regatta at the conclusion of this regatta.  Any conversations that have to happen with school administrators should happen this week before arriving on site.
