The 2011 MidAtlantic Scholastic Sailing Association Baker National Team Race Qualifier on April 30, 2011 and May 1, 2011 was hosted by The Virginia Interscholastic Sailing Association at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club in Norfolk Va. On Saturday under sunny skies with winds of 8 - 16 knots, 17 teams competed, 7 teams racing at Old Dominion University and 8 teams at NYCC for the first seeded round. 21 races were sailed at ODU and 28 races were sailed at NYCC. The top 4 teams from ODU and NYCC advanced to complete in the championship round, and the bottom four teams from NYCC met the bottom 3 teams at ODU to complete the consolation round. After the completion of the championship round we had a 3 way tie for 4th between Severn, Toms River and Broadneck, with Severn winning the tie break. On Sunday, after a delay, winds rose to 8 - 10, and two final four rounds were sailed between Norfolk Collegiate, Annapolis, Christchurch and Severn. Norfolk Collegiate taking the top spot with 12 wins and 1 loss. Annapolis and Christchurch tied for second with 7 wins and 6 losses. Annapolis won the tie breaker for second. Results: 1st. Norfolk Collegiate Team 12 Wins - 1 Loss, 2nd. Annapolis Team 7 Wins - 6 Losses, and 3rd. Christchurch Team 7 Wins - 6 Losses.
